Juno award winning indie rockers Wintersleep have announced their debut Irish show at The Academy 2 next month when they play on Thursday 12 February. Tickets priced €12 incl. booking fee are on sale from tomorrow, Saturday 10 January from all usual Ticketmaster outlets now.
The Canadian band formed in 2002 and last year they released their third full length album, Welcome To The Night Sky and won the 2008 Juno Award for New Group of The Year.
Wintersleeps members frequently collaborate outside of the group with frontman Paul Murphy and guitarist Tim D’eon having played together in the band Kary. Drummer, Loel Campbell has also played with Kary and is a member of some other projects most notably Holy F*ck. Bassist Mike Bigelow has also played with the Canadian electro rockers.
